Illustration in the style of Campbell (Digital Media)

Aaron Campbell's work was definitely some of the most inspiring and colourful examples of digital illustration that I'd encountered in recent years.  Coupled with his cartoon-y style and inspirations, his style was something that strongly resonated with me, and was something I really wanted to try.  I took a close look at one of his images in particular, with an eye to trying my own version of this image. Ultimately, as a car lover, I wanted to feature a vehicle as my subject matter, with a colourful scene behind it.  I wasn't sure if I'd ever be able to come close to something like this.  I started by doing a sketch.  Or more aptly, a series of sketches.  I wanted to tie this into the theme of my own environment, and my immediate idea was to draw my own car, a crappy like car that I have such a strong attachment too. Digital Media Artists (Digital Media)

Digital Media is a method of work that can really cover a great deal of work, styles and methods.  Digital work can mean that the piece of work is created entirely digitally, or even that digital methods were used in the works conception, realisation, distribution or display.  This can mean that understanding and narrowing down what digital media is exactly can be difficult.  To help assist in our understanding of this expansive medium, we were asked to look into and explore a number of artists. Matt Herring , an example of his work above, started as a London based commercial illustrator.  He is known most widely for creating magazine covers and illustrations, most of which have a striking (collage-type) style to them.  He mixes photography with computer generated elements and composites them in a colourful and pleasing manner.  Herring's work is a considerable commercial success. Cubism - Critical Analysis and Response (Contextual Studies)

The Birth Of Cubism Two European Artists, Spanish Pablo Picasso (1881 - 1973) and French peer Georges Braque (1882 - 1963) are widely regarded as the creators of Cubism.  Following on from Post Impressionism and inspired by Primitivism, these two artists would take these ideas and study them, really focusing to develop their own interruption.  Both artists would spend years furthering Cubism.  Artists such as Paul Cezanne had been experimenting with fractured perspective, trying to show landscapes and scenery from various angles and times in the same image.  Initially his work was subtle, but soon fractured elements in his compositions would show through, resulting in geometric patterns and shapes.  Picasso would be the first to work with these shapes, exploiting them further.
